Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Account info:your email address -- nothing more. There is no password, and we don’t ask for your name. Study activity: your practice answers, mock-exam scores, and readiness history, used to show you your own progress. Self-reported exam outcomes: if you choose to tell us whether you passed the real exam, we record that answer to compute the community pass-rate statistic. Billing: if you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment directly -- we never see or store your card number. Basic technical logs: request timing and IP address, kept briefly for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.

2. What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data. We don’t use third-party ad trackers. And we never ask you for a password -- sign-in is a one-time link sent to your email.

3. Who we share data with

Stripeprocesses payments if you subscribe; the card and billing data it handles are covered by Stripe’s own privacy policy. Our email delivery provider sends your sign-in link; only your email address and the link itself pass through it. We do not send your practice answers, scores, or any other study data to any third party -- including the AI provider used to generate practice questions. Question generation is a one-way process that produces the same content for everyone; it never reads your personal data.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use browser local storage -- not tracking cookies -- to keep you signed in and to remember your selected state/exam and theme preference. No cross-site tracking, no ad cookies.

5. Your rights

At any time, you can download a full export of everything we hold on your account, or permanently delete your account and all of its data, directly from your account page -- self-service, no support request needed. Deleting your account also cancels any active subscription. If you have questions about your data, email [SUPPORT_EMAIL].

If you’re in the EU/UK or California, the tools above are how we fulfill your GDPR/CCPA rights of access, deletion, and portability. If you’d rather not self-serve, you can email us instead.

6. How long we keep data

Study activity and account data are kept until you delete your account. Sign-in tokens and sessions are purged automatically when they expire. One exception: content-accuracy reports (“flags”) you submit are kept after account deletion, with the link to your identity removed -- on their own, they remain useful as content-quality signal.

7. Children’s privacy

PassGauge is built for adults preparing for trade licensure and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
